Hello Peter McCullough and Syd.  Actually Peter Beal has just this week retired (I can't believe it of the youthful Peter) from Sotheby's and is going to begin work in an office of his own somewhere.  Probably if you call or email Sotheby's they can supply you with new contact info.


I'm in a train passing through Peterborough towards Lincoln for some Record Office work.  Coffee and free internet service come with my senior railpass.  How the years transform us and things in general!

Peter Beal is now Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of English Studies (Senate House, Malet Street, London WC1E 7HU), having received a five-year AHRC award to turn his Index into the online Catalogue of English Literary Manuscripts, 1450-1700. I probably shouldn't post his email address and phone number to a public forum.
