I've been askedto give a talk next fall to a mixed audience of scholars (not necessarily of English lit or even of our period of interest) and blue-haired and bald lay persons on the subject of Donne studies as they burgeoned under the impetus of Eliot and as they supposedly gave way to interest in Milton. Now, I can talk about this in dry academic terms with suitable references, but my talk would be much enriched by the personal views of you Donne scholars.
Any takers? I won't need to make final copy until next autumn, but if I have some quick responses it will help me with a title and a focused abstract (also with publicity).
