This is to invite as many members of the Donne Society as possible to come to this conference on 'Community and Conviviality in the work of Robert Herrick and his contemporaries', to be held this summer near Herrick's vicarage and church at Dean Prior, Devon. As you will see from the programme, most sessions are at Buckfast Abbey, a beautiful site on the banks of the river Dart, but one will be held in Dean Prior Church, with a Devon cream tea in Herrick's vicarage garden (weather permitting) promised before it. What more could a Donne scholar want?
